National Geographic: five seconds to bring the story back
Amsterdam Centraal 24/7
For National Geographic, we created two short idents to promote the second season of Amsterdam Centraal 24/7, the docuseries that takes viewers behind the scenes at one of the busiest train stations in the Netherlands.
After a first season whose finale became one of the channel’s most-watched broadcasts in years, the idents had one clear task: to remind viewers that the story was about to continue.
The first ident places you inside a train compartment, moving towards Amsterdam Centraal as the station appears outside the window. It captures the feeling of arriving in the city: quiet anticipation, followed by instant recognition.
A new perspective on arrival.
The second ident shifts the perspective completely. From above, the camera follows the rails until their shapes resolve into the National Geographic logo. The station’s own infrastructure becomes the visual language of the campaign.
Together, the two idents show how much can be communicated in just a few seconds: a train window, a stretch of rail and a logo. Just enough to bring viewers back into the world of the series, and make them want to return to the platform every Thursday.
